This coalition, part of the global #DefundPipelines movement, pressures the DC government to divest from banks linked to fossil fuel pipelines, private prisons, and predatory lending practices.

Instead, the Coalition advocates for reinvesting District funds into community-led solutions for DC's most under-resourced residents. Jiang provides strategic and narrative direction, helping organize advocacy efforts against fossil fuel extraction's environmental and community damage, including past support for the #NoDAPL movement.

Beyond his research, Charlie runs a non-profit that supports various charities, including plastic pollution advocacy, through the sale of science-themed clothing.

Dr. Halden's research focuses on urban populations' health by analyzing chemical and biological agents in the urban water cycle. Father Charles Moore (1927-2007) was a spiritual teacher, historian, and scholar. A Stanford Law graduate, he served as Santa Cruz County District Attorney in 1954. He later became a Roman Catholic priest in 1964, holding degrees in philosophy and theology from Catholic University.

Known as "Father Charlie," he studied many languages, including Native American. His teachings blended wisdom from Buddhist, Jewish, Hindu, Hawaiian, Celtic, and Native American spiritualities, and he particularly enjoyed working with the Esselen people of Monterey County.
