Tajikistan will host the 35th session of the FAO Regional Conference for Europe (ERC) from May 11-15, 2026. This vital forum brings together FAO Members from Europe and Central Asia, along with UN agencies, NGOs, academia, and civil society, for strategic dialogue on the region's most pressing food and agricultural challenges.

Under the theme "United for Sustainability," the conference will focus on integrating climate action, biodiversity conservation, and land restoration to foster resilient agrifood systems. Aligned with FAO's 2022-2031 Strategic Framework, discussions will cover sustainable resource management, climate adaptation, and biodiversity, aiming for better production, nutrition, environment, and life. The agenda also addresses agrifood system financing and the impact of regional crises.

Tayikistán acogerá la 35.ª Conferencia Regional de la FAO para Europa (ERC) del 11 al 15 de mayo de 2026. Este foro clave reunirá a los Miembros de la FAO de Europa y Asia Central para un diálogo estratégico sobre los desafíos alimentarios y agrícolas más apremiantes de la región.

Bajo el tema "Unidos por la sostenibilidad", la conferencia se centrará en integrar la acción climática, la conservación de la biodiversidad y la restauración de tierras. El objetivo es promover sistemas agroalimentarios sostenibles, resilientes e inclusivos. También se abordará la financiación y el fortalecimiento de la resiliencia ante múltiples crisis, en línea con el Marco Estratégico de la FAO para una mejor producción, nutrición, medio ambiente y vida.

Tajikistan will host the 35th FAO Regional Conference for Europe (ERC) from May 11-15, 2026. This key forum gathers FAO Members from across Europe and Central Asia, along with UN agencies, NGOs, academia, and civil society, for strategic dialogue on the region's most pressing food and agricultural issues.

Under the theme "United for Sustainability," the conference will focus on integrating climate action, biodiversity conservation, and land restoration to foster sustainable, resilient, and inclusive agrifood systems. Discussions will address external factors like multiple crises, the war in Ukraine, and financing, emphasizing integrated approaches to strengthen resilience. The Central American Dry Corridor faces significant agricultural challenges from prolonged droughts and intense rains. To address this, FAO, the Brazilian government (via ABC/MRE), and the Ministries of Agriculture of Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras are collaborating on a project. This initiative, part of the Brazil-FAO South-South Cooperation Program, focuses on "Agricultural Zoning of Climate Risk (ZARC) and water resource management." Its objective is to develop strategies that build resilience and foster inclusive transformation across the region.

The 2nd Fair of Rural Conscious Tourism Creators of the Humboldt Archipelago was held on February 14, 2026, in Punta de Choros, Chile. Organized by 18 women leaders in crafts, gastronomy, and hospitality, the event featured over 20 activities, including workshops and art, attracting hundreds and promoting regional identity and development.

The "Creadoras Rurales de Turismo Consciente Archipiélago de Humboldt" group secured Blue Economy funds via the GEF Marine Coastal Governance Project. These resources enabled a training school, digital marketing workshops, scientific talks, a territorial fair, and a website for their products. The Decalogue of Good Practices for Marine Coastal Tourism was also presented.
