CNBC - 09.12.2009 - Interview with Tom Knutzen CEO of Danisco, a Denmark company that develops and produces food ingredients, enzymes, and bio-based solutions. He discusses opportunities to invest in technology solutions with solid businss plans and with support from politicians in terms of time horizons and even a carbon tax. All part of the need to combat climate change. Briefly discusses need for support of their natural product designed to replace the rubber coming out of rain forests and from fossil fuel. Not sure it can be cost-competitive, a tax on carbon would make it easier.
Sustainability - John Fullerton of the Capital Institute talks about his journey from Wall Street to being a sustainability advocate. An early influence in his understanding of the sustainability crisis was the work of E.F. Schumacher author of the book, Small is Beautiful.
John goes on to discuss his work with Allan Savory, founder of Holistic Management, in restoring grasslands and, ultimately, carbon back to the soil. The interview was conducted by Ruth Ann Barrett of EarthSayers.tv in San Francisco on October 7th, 2010.
