The Upper Verde River, along with its critical tributaries, represents one of Arizona's most ecologically healthy and economically important free-flowing river systems. Due to its remarkable value, a federal Wild & Scenic River designation is proposed to provide resources for management, protect clean water supplies, and maintain its vital ecosystem for future generations.
