Sustainability Action Media (SAM) at 2010 ESTC, the Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference organized by TIES, The International Ecotourism Society.

Rick was interviewed and videotaped by Barry Heidt of SAM "in-situ" during the conference in the Hilton Hotel, Portland, Oregon and is positioned as a sustainability thought leader in the EarthSayers.tv, special collection, Eco-Tourism.

Rick discusses the importance of ecotourism and conservation of natural environments as he personally witnesses, as a mountain  climber, the degredation of the wild places. Landscape connectivity is his present focus to making a difference.

Sustainability Action Media (SAM) at Earth Day Conference 2012 sponsored by the Earth & Spirit Council.  Presenters and attendees were asked to respond to the question, "What gives us hope and heart to keep working on what is best for our Earth in the face of difficult changes?"  Videotaped by Tom Hopkins of SAM using a green screen which allows a relevant background to be easily added for each interview or the same one across all interviews.

Linda Neale of the Earth & Spirit Council and author of the book, Power of Ceremony responds to a question from the audience at the opening session of the EarthDay Conference 2012 co-sponsored by the Council and Portland Community College (PCC)/Sylvania Campus.  She is joined in the response by Ilarion (Larry) Merculieff who was born and raised with a traditional upbringing on the Pribilof Islands of the Bering Sea. His traditional name, Kuuyux, was given to him when he was four and means extension of ancient knowledge into modern times.

Wikuki Kingi was interviewed by Barry Heidt of sustainabletv.org at the Bioneers Annual Conference held in October 2011 in San Rafael, California.  He is a traditional Maori Master Carver of Aotearoa (New Zealand) whose culturally significant masterpieces draw from deep traditional knowledge to express principles of Indigenous sovereignty, identity and sustainability and to comment on the lasting impacts of colonization. Tony Skrelunas talks about there being no road map so we rely on our young people, our communities to guide us and stay on the right path.  Stories, songs and our indigenous knowledge important to our survival in a good way.
