Rene Orellana: Diálogos Regionales sobre la Tenencia del Agua en América Latina y el Caribe

Rene Orellana Halkyer, FAO Deputy Director-General for Latin America and the Caribbean, presented FAO's vision on responsible water tenure governance at the Regional Dialogue in Panama City (Feb 11-12). He emphasized strengthening equitable and sustainable water allocation, promoting inclusive solutions, and advancing evidence-based water management to enhance water and food security, aligning with SDG 6.

The dialogue convened governments, social organizations, indigenous peoples, academia, and the private sector. Its aim was to forge common principles and shared solutions to address the region's growing water scarcity challenges.
