In this passionate call to action, 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg explains why, in August 2018, she walked out of school and organized a strike to raise awareness of global warming, protesting outside the Swedish parliament and grabbing the world's attention. "The climate crisis has already been solved. We already have all the facts and solutions," Thunberg says. "All we have to do is to wake up and change."

Jason Mark of Sierra Magazine explains that we can't ignore climate risks where we live. Climate risk concealed by insurance companies and real estate agents will come to the surface when "the horizon of the 30-year mortgage starts to run up against very serious flooding and sea-level rise."

Multidisciplinary artist and TED Fellow Paul Rucker is unstitching the legacy of systemic racism in the United States. A collector of artifacts connected to the history of slavery -- from branding irons and shackles to postcards depicting lynchings -- Rucker couldn't find an undamaged Ku Klux Klan robe for his collection, so he began making his own. The result: striking garments in non-traditional fabrics like kente cloth, camouflage and silk that confront the normalization of systemic racism in the US. "If we as a people collectively look at these objects and realize that they are part of our history, we can find a way to where they have no more power over us," Rucker says. Jason Flom describes his journey from being a wannabe Jimi Hendrix to music industry mogul and from a drug addicted college dropout to a pioneer in criminal justice reform. On January 31st, 1992, he read an article in the newspaper that set him on a mission to end mass incarceration. He has spent over 25 years working to free the innocent, reform the bail system, eliminate mandatory sentencing, abolish the death penalty and end the war on drugs. In this personal and inspiring talk, Flom recounts his journey and powerfully reminds us that we can all make a difference. Henry Taylor is a 12th grader at Pioneer High School. In his free time, he loves hanging out with friends, going to see good movies, researching politics, and reading. Henry has been a big supporter of the feminist movement for a while now, and he thinks that doing a TEDx talk would be a really cool and effective way for him to throw in his 2 cents as to why everyone, regardless of gender, should be a feminist.
