On September 18, 2024, two sessions will explore the critical impact of digital transformation on jobs and skills. The first, "Digital skills for jobs," will address global challenges and opportunities, focusing on strategies to enhance workforce skills for diverse demographics. Experts from the International Labour Organization (ILO), Stanford, and other organizations will discuss best practices for digital skills development.

The second session, "Industry perspective on skills needs," will feature leaders from companies like Microsoft, Huawei, and SAP. They will discuss core skills for digital transformation, identify growth sectors, and share how companies adapt through skilling programs and talent acquisition. This aims to inform policymakers and training institutions on market demands.

On November 30, 2022, the European Commission released its latest circular economy policies, notably the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation. CLG Europe’s Taskforce on Climate Neutral and Circular Materials and Products hosted an event to gather initial stakeholder responses from policymakers, businesses, and third-sector organizations.

The event focused on integrating these new policies into a wider circular European economy, providing a progressive business view. Speakers included Virginijus Sinkevičius, European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, alongside other high-level experts.

Despite a previously unknown jaguar sighting in southern Arizona, border-wall construction crews recently detonated explosions in Coronado National Memorial. This destruction impacts federally protected critical jaguar habitat, along with threatened Mexican spotted owls and the endangered beardless chinchweed flower.

Russ McSpadden of the Center for Biological Diversity, who filmed the destruction, stated the wall "will fracture jaguar migration routes, choke genetic diversity, and wipe out natural connections." The administration waived environmental laws to accelerate this work, setting the stage for "long-term ecological collapse."
