Miguel, Michal and Andy explore how waste plastic bottles could be used in saving water in schools. Developed through an education programme, the students created an awareness of the plastic waste in our local and global communities and designed a solution to using the wasted bottles to reduce water consumption in toilet cisterns. They present an insightful solution that attempts to use one global problem to solve another. They also explore the issue of educating people about in their communities about impact they are having on our planet. Miguel has explored ways to improve water conservation through monitoring water usage as well as finding simple solutions to reduced excess water wastage. We will be presenting a simple way for everyone to save water at home. We will also discuss how we have implemented this in school and we will show how such a simple idea can actually make a big difference in our world. We chose to do this topic because this was our CAS project, and also because of the positive impacts we can make on our environment. One of our goals was to advertise this idea to the public and to utilize the platform of the TEDx to spread our simple but meaningful idea. We hope that after listening to our presentation that everyone at home would follow our recommendations and save water. We will be presenting a simple way for everyone to save water at home. We will also discuss how we have implemented this in school and we will show how such a simple idea can actually make a big difference in our world.
