Her perspective shifted after moving to India, where she became vegan, initially for comfort, then due to concerns about animal husbandry's environmental impact. While she once wished everyone would go vegan, Nikola now advocates for "reducetarianism."

A photographer and creative director in Prague, Nikola has actively blogged for six years on dcerka.sk, covering ethical veganism, recipes, and cruelty-free cosmetics. The Arctic Refuge is vital for Alaska Native subsistence and represents an unspoiled natural world. Despite its importance, the Trump administration plans to allow oil and gas drilling in the coastal plain. This drilling would destroy intact wilderness and violate the human rights of the Gwich'in, who rely on this sacred place.
