Armed militia, Black Lives Matter protesters collide in Louisville marches. This is what has been happening throughout many American Cities mostly as reported by news stations such as this one by the Lexington Herald Leader.  Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old African-American emergency medical technician, was fatally shot by Louisville Metro Police Department officers Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove on March 13, 2020.

A heavily armed group calling themselves "American patriots" retreated after marching to downtown Louisville when they were confronted by Black Lives Matter protesters calling for justice for Breonna Taylor. 

Taylor Brorby, a poet, writer, and activist, grew up in North Dakota, witnessing the environmental and personal scars inflicted by the fossil fuel industry. A profound critic, his works include

Taylor Brorby, a poet, writer, and activist, grew up in North Dakota, witnessing the environmental and personal scars inflicted by the fossil fuel industry. A profound critic, his works include the memoir *Boys and Oil: Growing Up Gay in a Fractured Land*, essays in *Civil Disobedience*, and co-edited *Fracture*. He seeks to inspire passion to protect the biosphere.

Brorby is also the author of *Crude: Poems*, with work appearing in *The NY Times* and *Orion*. He has received prestigious fellowships and teaches nonfiction writing at the University of Alabama.

Acclaimed author and queer activist Taylor Brorby confronts the escalating authoritarian backlash against LGBTQ rights, questioning why this battle persists. As a writer also addressing the fossil fuel industry's role in climate chaos, Brorby faces a dilemma: the existential crises impacting nature and LGBTQ people.

He argues these struggles are interconnected. Brorby seeks to reconcile nature, culture, diversity, and belonging, emphasizing that all these elements are part of a unified fight.

Henry Taylor is a 12th grader at Pioneer High School. In his free time, he loves hanging out with friends, going to see good movies, researching politics, and reading. Henry has been a big supporter of the feminist movement for a while now, and he thinks that doing a TEDx talk would be a really cool and effective way for him to throw in his 2 cents as to why everyone, regardless of gender, should be a feminist.
