Mr. Dharmendra is a dedicated environmentalist in Navi Mumbai, collaborating with major groups on environmental conservation and Swachh Bharat initiatives. An ISR and ESOP champion and RiseforGood Star Volunteer, he has earned numerous Tech Mahindra awards for his societal and environmental contributions.

Featured almost 50 times in national print and television, his work includes reviving Kharghar Lake, forest, and wetland. Key initiatives involve transforming Kharghar Pond into a wetland, planting over 8,000 trees, and preparing 100,000 seedballs. Elder Dave Courchene (Nii Gaani Aki Inini – Leading Earth Man), an Anishinabe Nation Elder and Spiritual Advisor for the Indigenous Leadership Initiative, served as Ceremonial Witness at the First Nations’ National Guardians Gathering 2019.

Invited by the Heiltsuk and Squamish Nations, Elder Courchene offered concluding remarks at the gathering, held March 12-13, 2019, in Vancouver.

On June 21, 2017, the summer solstice and National Aboriginal Day, Turtle Lodge Elders and representatives from the Original Nations lit a sacred fire at Manitou Api. The flame was brought to Winnipeg, where Elder Dave Courchene lit the Centennial Flame at the Manitoba Legislative Building. It will burn for one year, inspiring the province and nation.

This sacred flame launched the 2017 Canada Games torch run in Manitoba and later lit the Games' cauldron.

This event, featuring Elders Robin Greene and Don Cardinal, reunited Original Peoples, with turtles symbolizing new life and Indigenous rebirth.

Now an annual event by Turtle Lodge, Igniting the Fire is open to all cultures, bringing nations to Manitou Api to share knowledge and ceremonies, with Elders transferring wisdom to youth.
