David Detzler, a degreed chemist and 45-year automotive veteran, offers an insider's view on climate change. He argues that carbon offsets are ineffective and that the only real solution is to end our addiction to fossil fuels. A National Merit Scholar, Detzler conducted research alongside doctoral students at age 20, identifying the dangers of 2-4-dichlorophenoxyacetic, later known as Agent Orange.

At Chrysler Automotive, Detzler served as a materials engineer and senior manager. He pioneered advancements in coatings, notably introducing environmentally safe powder coating to the American automotive market.

Eleven-year-old Sri Nihal Tammana founded Recycle My Battery to envision a cleaner, safer world. His nonprofit aims to shift public mindset on used battery disposal and raise awareness about the dangers of improper methods.

Recycle My Battery provides certified collection bins and educates communities. To date, they have recycled over 55,000 batteries and taught more than 400,000 people about proper battery recycling.

Nihal's ultimate goal is to eliminate the 15 billion batteries discarded annually. His inspiring message, "If I can make the earth a better place to live, you can! If you can make the earth a better place to live, we all can!", was shared at a TEDx event.

This led to exchanges in France, Peru, and the US, alongside family travels fostering a deep passion for nature.

Her interests culminated in "Classroom under Sails," a transformative half-year Atlantic voyage. This challenging experience—living in close quarters, performing night watches, and studying on a wavy ocean—exposed her to new cultures and intense natural environments. The journey prompted profound reflection on her lifestyle, particularly regarding environmental issues and inequality, fundamentally shifting her perspective on consumer society.
