Marcelin argues that genuine appreciation extends beyond gifts; it requires everyone to step up, combat the virus, and reduce its spread to alleviate the burden on frontline personnel. An Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, she is a fierce advocate for health equity, justice, diversity, and inclusion, and a prominent leader within the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA).
