Green Plans are comprehensive, integrated management strategies designed to achieve environmental and economic sustainability, replacing traditional single-issue policies.

These plans have been implemented worldwide, including New Zealand, the Netherlands, and other European Union countries. Advocate Huey Johnson has introduced them to parts of the United States, believing they are crucial for managing Climate Change.

The Netherlands' National Environmental Policy Plan (NEPP), adopted in 1989, is the longest-running example. Despite facing severe environmental problems like congestion and heavy industry, the country achieved significant recovery in under 20 years through its implementation.

Thierry Vrain, a retired soil biologist and former head of a molecular biology department, spent his career engineering nematode resistance in crops. In retirement, as a gardener, he gained a deeper understanding of soil ecosystems.

Observing public concern about food safety, Vrain, with his expertise in genetic engineering, felt compelled to act. He has joined a campaign to educate consumers about potential health issues reported in recent scientific literature.

The U.S. faces a critical energy dilemma: immediate fossil fuel needs, exacerbated by global crises, conflict with the urgent scientific imperative to rapidly reduce production to avert climate catastrophe. Fossil fuel companies' claims of decarbonization are unsubstantiated, given their history of obstructing climate action.

Climate politics expert Kate Aronoff explores how policymakers must expand their toolkit to manage an orderly decline of the fossil fuel era, fostering a collective stake in our energy future.

Ben Jealous, former NAACP President and current Executive Director of the Sierra Club, examines how the green economy drives job creation and transforms industries, including renewable energy and electric vehicles.

He debunks myths that this transition will lead to job losses or take too long, showcasing how innovation fuels economic growth. Jealous also highlights the health benefits of cleaner air and reduced pollution, such as lower rates of asthma and heart disease. He underscores how the green economy reshapes industries, improves workforce opportunities, and enhances public health outcomes.

The energy transition is critical, with the 2020s marking a decisive decade for climate justice. As fossil fuels peak, we must rapidly scale renewables, ensuring an equitable new energy economy.

The energy transition is critical, with the 2020s marking a decisive decade for climate justice. As fossil fuels peak, we must rapidly scale renewables, ensuring an equitable new energy economy. Visionary "green" entrepreneur Danny Kennedy, founder of New Energy Nexus, proposes a "3D" clean energy future: distributed, decentralized in ownership, and democratized in control, driven by global grassroots entrepreneurship.

Kennedy, a seasoned eco-activist and clean-tech leader, co-founded Sungevity and Powerhouse. He now serves as CEO of New Energy Nexus, a global nonprofit providing funds, accelerators, and networks to advance clean energy innovation and adoption worldwide.

The fight against climate change is deeply linked with digital rights, as advocates face surveillance and censorship while information flow is controlled by large corporations. The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) actively protects these rights, aiding environmental activists with security and privacy.

EFF Executive Director Cindy Cohn, a leading Internet law attorney, will explain how EFF's advocacy for open access to scientific information, net neutrality, and open source technologies is critical in preventing climatic unraveling.
