This richly moving, dynamic, wisdom-packed panel will shift your thinking about the role of business in creating a just, equitable, zero carbon future for humanity and all life on Earth. In commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) principles, the inaugural B Corp Global Climate Summit (June 29-30 & July 1, 2021), seeks to evolve the business sector’s collective understanding and practice of Climate Justice and its commitment to human-centered, justice-driven approaches to climate action. With the aim of centering those on the frontlines of climate justice work and those whose lived experiences are most proximate to the challenges at hand, Summit conveners invited a select group of climate justice leaders from around the world to share their views on several key issues about the role of business in taking concrete climate action centered in justice. Olympic gold medalist Jill Savery is a leading expert in sports sustainability. As Head of Sustainability for the America's Cup Event Authority, she has advised organizations including the United States Olympic Committee, the London 2012 Organizing Committee, and FIFA World Cup bid teams on embedding sustainable practices into their operations.

An International Swimming Hall of Fame inductee, Savery earned a Master's Degree from Yale University and coached athletes for over two decades. She frequently speaks on sustainability and sport, and co-edited the book *Sustainability and Sport*, available on Amazon. She was interviewed by Ruth Ann Barrett of EarthSayers.tv in September 2013 at the America's Cup finals.

Can you improve a neighbourhood without changing its population? Within the "Westwood Next Door" project, the M06 student group proposed interventions for the sustainable development of the Westwood-Highland Park neighbourhood, located in Seattle's periphery. Under the motto small measures for big changes, M06 reshaped the area taking into consideration the residents' needs and interests while at the same time avoiding the gentrification of the neighbourhood. Relevant features of their strategy were the promotion of sustainable thinking and community engagement as well as the promotion of sustainable means of transportation, the greening of central streetscapes, temporary uses of brownfields, and vacant buildings for the community life to thrive in the neighbourhood. Over the course of its 150-year history, California has successfully protected its scenic wilderness areas, restricted coastal oil drilling, regulated automobile emissions, preserved coastal access and improved energy efficiency. Back in 1963 when the Clean Air Act was written, legislators acknowledged that California was ahead of the curve and wrote a waiver into the law allowing the Golden State to set its own stricter standards. In 2018, that exception is being used in fighting—and so far winning—the loosening of national CAFE standards Join us for a conversation about the past, present and future of California’s leadership in environmental policy. We will look at the lessons—as laid out by David Vogel—offered by California to the nation and the world. What has worked and where has the state fallen short? And later in the show. . . Just ten years ago, an entire state running on 100 percent renewable electricity was considered fanciful.
