CLG Europe’s Materials and Products Taskforce hosted an event highlighting the critical role of a circular European economy in meeting EU climate goals and showcasing the Taskforce's work, launched at COP26.

During the event, CLG Europe published its policy briefing, "Green Circularity: Advancing the EU’s climate goals through a Circular Economy," which outlines challenges and recommendations for policymakers to accelerate the circular transition. Read the full publication here.

The Taskforce unites businesses committed to sustainable materials, driving policy action and supporting EU decarbonization measures. While welcoming the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation, it emphasizes addressing broader challenges businesses face in achieving circularity.

The Green Growth Summit 2022 will convene Environment, Climate, and Energy Ministers, MEPs, and business leaders to address the critical crossroads of climate action and energy security. Discussions will focus on delivering the 'Fit for 55 Package' and REPowerEU Plan, while enhancing the EU's international leadership in accelerating the global energy transition. The event will also mark the launch of CLG Europe’s flagship report on successfully delivering the European Green Deal.

This virtual forum united over 125 grassroots and frontline women leaders, advocates, and policymakers from 50 countries, offering 25 panels with diverse strategies for a healthy, just world. WECAN also launched its “Escazú Agreement Toolkit for Women Land Defenders and Frontline Communities.” This resource offers eleven country-specific guides to help women land defenders navigate domestic laws for Escazú Agreement protections, ensuring their rights and environmental safeguards.
