Decades of warnings about climate change, fueled by CO2 emissions, highlight a warming atmosphere, melting ice, and collapsing ecosystems. Despite warnings, society's slow response has brought us to a critical juncture. Now, contemporary climate activism, especially by young people, offers hope for the radical systemic changes needed to save humankind.

Jakub Hrbáň, a Slovak coordinator for "Fridays For Future," embodies this hope. After high school, he joined the March 2019 climate strike and completed Sweden's Youth Initiative Program.
