Steve Leonard is an international leader in the information technology industry with more than 25 years of experience building hardware, software, and managed-services companies in Asia and Europe. Leonard also has broad experience in government, holding senior roles in Singapore through which he created and implemented national programs for an innovation-based economy. Leonard currently serves as CEO of Singularity University (SU) — a Silicon Valley based global organisation that enables leaders to understand how future technologies will impact their companies and countries, and engages those leaders to help them shape that future. SU seeks to positively impact one billion people through the collective capabilities of the entrepreneurs, investors, corporations and governments with which it works. 70 million US Catholics can be a powerful force for change.When you’re working on Creation Care initiatives at your parish, what should you do you do next and how can you effectively promote EICDA within the context of Care for Creation? Here’s some ideas and resources for you regarding messaging, activities, educational events and promotion that have worked to engage parishioners! Speaker Bios: Andy Panelli is on the leadership team of CCL’s Catholic Action Team and is a member of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Encyclical Working Group. Andy also leads a multi-parish Creation Care Team (CCT) in Vicariate V of the Archdiocese. Part of the mission of Andy’s CCT is to provide tools and event ideas to make other CCT’s in the Diocese more effective. Steve Coleman is a retired engineer and businessman. He has been involved with CCL and Catholic outreach for 6 years. Steve has given presentations, help start a care for creation group in is church and written a booklet to lead Catholics from our moral call to care for creation to supporting the Energy Innovation Act. Multistreaming with https://restream.io/ The wastefulness of takeaway paper coffee cups and issues of recyclability have regularly featured in the headlines in recent years as topics like ocean plastics become increasingly prominent. Better design and reuse are clearly on top of the agenda, but there's demands for better recycling are also firmly on the agenda of governments, organisations and consumers. Join this session to hear the story of how DS Smith has aimed to tackle this issue, starting by finding a solution to recycling coffee cups at scale in a standard paper mill, and then moving on to consider the system that sits around that technology with the launch of their Coffee Drop Box solution. We'll also be joined in the studio by the Head of Environment from one of the UK's largest coffee retailers, who will talk about the challenge of single use takeaway cups and the respective roles that reuse and recycling can play in changing a consumer's relationship with those products.
