Dr. Lindsay Murray's talk highlights climate change's impact on wildlife, driven by human activity. Using the 'anthropause' as a catalyst, she encourages a call to action for greener, wilder, and more respectful co-existence with nature for shared benefit.

Dr. Murray, a Senior Lecturer in Animal Psychology, researches primatology (personality, social behaviour, self-recognition) and broader animal behaviour, such as elephant grief and brown bear ecotourism. She serves on the Primate Society of Great Britain Council and the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour Education Committee, and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

The question of how butterflies survive Australia's massive bushfires was answered in part by Julie Favell. Near Long Swamp in Lithgow, while putting out water for fire-affected wildlife, she witnessed common brown butterflies (Heteronympha merope) fluttering inside a moist wombat hole.

This observation suggests that natural underground shelters, offering damp and cooler conditions, provide vital refuge for some species during intense infernos.
