The world’s native grasslands are unequivocally imperiled, along with the birds and ecosystem services dependent on healthy native grasslands, wetlands and soils. In his TEDxFargo talk, Marshall shares the reality of how our marketplace decision can help farmers and ranchers conserve grasslands through regenerative grazing, and encourages people to seek out foods that are better for you and better for the land, thus becoming a regeneration, and making every day, our own Earth Day. Marshall Johnson is the Executive Director of Audubon Dakota and the Vice-President of the National Audubon Society. For the past decade, his team has built rural and urban community-focused habitat and ecosystem programs. His work in the Dakotas brings farmers and ranchers together with grasslands, herds, and birds into win-win alignment. Audubon's radical, market-based Conservation Ranching Program now enrolls more than 2,000,000 acres across 60 ranches. Under his leadership, Audubon Dakota’s Urban Woods and Prairie Initiative manages the largest urban conservation program in the Northern Great Plains. Dr. Damle, a Clinical Associate Professor at Brown University and founding partner of South County Internal Medicine, has treated countless patients suffering from climate change-related illnesses. These include tick-borne diseases, allergies, asthma, and waterborne illnesses, which are increasing in frequency and disproportionately affect vulnerable communities.

As past president of the American College of Physicians and a co-author of their 2015 position paper, Dr. Damle is a leading voice on the human health effects of climate change. He speaks globally, is a founding member of the Medical Societies Consortium on Climate Change, and advocates for mitigation efforts to legislative bodies and health departments.
