This speaker is ahead of the game when it comes to an undergraduate student. This student has full control of their education and is making the most of every opportunity. This speaker is using their passion to create real change on campus. This talk will encourage students to actively pursue their education while teaching them how to help underserved communities. This speaker will unlock the students’ minds by challenging them to evaluate their everyday habits in order to live a healthier lifestyle. Racism comes in many forms and this speaker will expose environmental racism and equip students with the tools to combat these obstacles. Inès Frazier is a senior, studying agriculture and chemistry at Prairie View A&M University. She is interested in creating solutions to problems that exist within the worlds of agriculture and environmental sustainability. In 2019, she participated in Switzerland’s School for International Training’s (SIT) Study Abroad Program for Food Security and Nutrition. She spent six weeks examining food security, nutrition, sustainable agriculture, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and slow food culture in Switzerland, Italy, and Croatia. Recently, she gave a presentation on her research “ The Colored Roots and Food Justice: A Look into Racism in Agriculture”. Mansfield Frazier, now in his third year with the Vineyards at Chateau Hough, has secured angel funding for his latest urban agriculture venture: the BioCellar at Chateau Hough.

This project envisions transforming Cleveland's 15,000 abandoned homes. Irreparable structures will be removed, and greenhouses built over their basements, creating "BioCellars" to cultivate high-value mushrooms ($12/pound). This innovative approach aims to grow crops, create jobs, and repurpose land, delivering significant economic, social, and environmental benefits.
