Born in France, of Jamaican and Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape descent, Slam boasts a distinguished academic and legal career. A Division 1 Rower, he earned multiple degrees and, in law school, led student associations and wrote an award-winning paper on Indian Water rights. He will continue his legal education at UCLA.

On November 18, WECAN hosted a COP29 press conference where women leaders advocated for a fossil fuel phaseout and a Just Transition. Speakers emphasized the importance of climate finance for equitable solutions and accountability, also highlighting efforts for a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty.
