The Declaration of Interdependence: A Pledge to Planet Earth by David Suzuki and Tara Cullis

The "Declaration of Interdependence" was written in 1992 by David Suzuki and his wife, Tara Cullis, along with Raffi Cavoukian, Wade Davis, Guujaw and others.

As the David Suzuki Foundation's founding document, it expresses our values as an organization and provides a vision for the survival of the planet through a "new politics of hope" that promotes connection and interdependence.

David has worked with the same fishing company for his whole career, starting as a graduate deckhand and working his way to CEO. David has made his commitment to sustainable fishing practice a hallmark of his career. In the Australian fishing industry he has transformed the tricky climate conversation into the main event. As storytellers, artists are reaching people on a deeper and more emotional level than the cerebral facts and charts often used to shape the climate narrative. Can art reach and activate people on climate in new and compelling ways? How can art convey the joy of nature and the grief of how humans are destroying it? Join us for a conversation about art, beauty and humanity in the age of climate disruption with celebrated choreographer Alonzo King, whose new dance is inspired by the beauty and tragedy unfolding in the Arctic. The world premier will be held in San Francisco later this year. Also joining is senior curator Nora Lawrence, whose 2018 exhibition at New York's Storm King Art Center, Indicators: Artists on Climate Change, was one of the first major museum exhibitions to address climate change.
