Despite ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), supported by the Ukraine Community Recovery Fund (UCRF), is bolstering rural livelihoods in Sumska oblast. Their program combines training with direct financial assistance, helping families in aquaculture, beekeeping, and dairy farming adapt and sustain production.
Farmers like Valentyna, a dedicated beekeeper, and Viacheslav, an aquaculture expert, have significantly benefited. This crucial support has enabled them to invest in essential equipment and inputs, stabilizing their operations, increasing income, and fostering future planning amidst the challenges of war.
