21-year-old Clover Hogan has been a climate activist for 10 years. She knows firsthand the struggles with eco-anxiety that plague her generation – those who have inherited the world’s climate crisis, and are told they are the ones that must fix it. Now Clover explains why climate action must start with the one thing we can all control: our mindset. She shows us why we need to challenge the stories that keep us feeling powerless and each take responsibility for protecting the planet for generations to come. Clover Hogan is a 21-year-old climate activist and the founder of Force of Nature: a global non-profit mobilising mindsets for climate action. Clover has worked alongside the world’s leading authorities on sustainability, supported students in 50+ countries to turn eco-anxiety into agency, and consulted within Fortune 500 companies. In her recently launched Force of Nature podcast, she speaks to ordinary people doing extraordinary things to save the planet. Clover is a trustee with Global Action Plan, and on the advisory boards of the National Community Lottery's Climate Action Fund and the Teach the Future campaign. She is also on the COP26 President-Designate Civil Society and Youth Advisory Council. Harriet Harvey Horn talks about the current climate we are living in today and how despite this climate chaos, we can be creative and come up with new climate possibilities in the future. Harriet Harvey Horn is a Climate Reality Project Leader, one of over 31,000 advocates in 135 countries personally trained by former US Vice President & Nobel Laureate, Al Gore, to present the latest facts on the climate crisis & solutions. Since training in 2018, Harriet has addressed audiences across the country & logged over 250 other Acts of Leadership. She is also co-chair of the Climate Reality San Francisco Bay Area Chapter and is active with the Foundation for Climate Restoration, 350.org and Sierra Club. Prior to committing her energies to the climate, Harriet enjoyed a 35-year high tech career, in engineering, marketing, management & consulting roles. She also held numerous leadership positions on nonprofit boards & volunteer organizations. Harriet holds an MBA from Santa Clara University & BS in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech, as well as several climate-related certifications. She and her husband live in Los Gatos. They have two sons in their 20’s who fuel Harriet’s passion to restore a healthy, livable habitat on Earth. In 1800, for the first time ever, humanity's population reached 1 billion; only 200 years later and there are 7 billion of us. Today we produce enough food to feed 10 billion, global hunger as a percentage of the population is decreasing and caloric intake is increasing. Achieving this has been dependent on our relationship with our planet; how we manipulate it and how it controls us. We have prospered due to revolutions in agriculture and water supply, but these developments come at a cost. Daniel assesses the food and water challenges of the coming century and opportunities to overcome these. Daniel is a geochemist and lecturer in the School of Geography and Centre for Water and Planetary Health at the University of Lincoln. His research focusses on how people interact with the environment chemically; both how the earth's chemistry shapes human lives and how human behaviour effects chemical processes in the environment. In particular, he focusses on understanding nutrient and contaminant processes in soils, rivers and groundwaters. He has published in internationally respected scientific journals and has worked in the UK and Cambodia. He completed his PhD at the University of Manchester in 2016 where he held the university's President's Doctoral Scholar Award. The global economy is showing signs of struggle and countries all around the world are working find ways to recover. Locally, it is the job of the economic developer to guide his or her community out of the difficulties the pandemic placed on their local economy. Jon Maynard is an economic developer in Oxford, Mississippi. His work has lead him to some striking revelations about Mississippi’s economy, as well as innovative ideas on how to navigate out of the problems that he discovered. His thoughts about making a change for the better could not come at a more opportune time. Jon Maynard is President and CEO of the Oxford-Lafayette County Economic Development Foundation and Chamber of Commerce. EDF is a public-private partnership with a mission to lead, innovate, and create opportunities for responsible economic investment that raises the per capita income for all citizens of Lafayette County in Mississippi. Maynard is an advocate for creating economic development by supporting ecosystems rather than subsidizing large industrial locations.
