Matika Wilbur, a leading Pacific Northwest photographer, has exhibited extensively in regional, national, and international venues such as the Seattle Art Museum and the Nantes Museum of Fine Arts in France. After studying photography at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography and Brooks Institute, she became a certified teacher at Tulalip Heritage High School, inspiring youth in her indigenous community.

A Native American woman of the Swinomish and Tulalip Tribes, Matika is a unique artist and social documentarian in Indian Country. Her work explores contemporary Native identity and experience with insight and passion, communicated through the impeccable artistry of her silver gelatin photographs. Tink Tinker (Osage Nation) is the Clifford Baldridge Professor of American Indian Cultures and Religious Traditions at Iliff School

Tink Tinker (Osage Nation) is the Clifford Baldridge Professor of American Indian Cultures and Religious Traditions at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. He teaches courses on American Indian cultures, history, religious traditions, and justice studies.

A frequent speaker nationally and internationally, Tinker has authored and co-authored numerous publications. Key works include “American Indian Liberation: A Theology of Sovereignty” (2008) and “Missionary Conquest: The Gospel and Native American Genocide” (1993).

Ilarion Merculieff shares Mother Earth's message on global challenges and Indigenous Elders' guidance. He notes that despite numerous environmental organizations, Earth's life support systems are failing. Merculieff urges a fundamental realignment in how we address human issues, stating "business as usual" is unsustainable.

With over forty years serving Indigenous peoples, Merculieff is a passionate advocate for Indigenous rights and a harmonious relationship with Mother Earth. He leads the Global Center for Indigenous Leadership and Lifeways and advises other key organizations. The discussion was moderated by Andrei Gheorghe.

Dr. Dan Wildcat, Director of the Haskell Environmental Research Studies (HERS) Center and Dean of the College of Natural and Social Sciences at Haskell Indian Nations University, delivered this report.

His speech was originally given at the 2012 Indigenous Forum, co-produced with the Cultural Conservatory, during the Bioneers National Conference. Dr. Wildcat has taught at Haskell for 25 years.

Robin Wall Kimmerer, a botanist, professor, and enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, is the acclaimed author of *Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants*. She serves as a SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor of Environmental Biology and founded the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment.

Kimmerer's significant contributions have earned her the John Burroughs Medal for outstanding nature writing and a MacArthur "genius" grant. Her research focuses on restoring ecological communities and our relationship with the land. She lives on an old farm in upstate New York, tending both cultivated and wild gardens.
