She decided to abandon polite conversation and speak her truth, declaring, "I Ain't Sorry." She never expected to witness the reemergence of civil rights issues like Charlottesville and repeated acquittals for killings of Black individuals, reminiscent of the 1960s. While seeking to facilitate discussions, she recognized the toll of maintaining dispassionate intellectualism. Her family was featured in the Dallas Morning News.
