On September 12, 2024, WECAN launched its "Gendered and Racial Impacts of the Fossil Fuel Industry in North America" report. This fourth edition details how fossil fuel extraction disproportionately harms women, particularly in Black, Brown, Indigenous, and low-income communities, leading to increased health risks, violence, and human rights violations. It also identifies complicit financial institutions and recommends steps for accountability and a just transition.

The virtual launch featured frontline women leaders, health experts, and advocates. Speakers like Roishetta Sibley Ozane, Rene Ann Goodrich, Sharon Lavigne, and Casey Camp Horinek demanded that financial institutions take action to protect communities, ecosystems, and the climate.

Thaalavattam is a collaborative music project founded by environmentalist and musician Montry Manuel. Based in Austria, Montry crafts unique instruments from discarded materials like industrial waste, paint cans, and bicycle parts. Its motto, "Reduce Reuse Retune," embodies the vision to "CLEAN THE ENVIRONMENT THROUGH MUSIC," drawing inspiration from nature, everyday life, and found objects.

Montry, a former art director and founding member of the Indian band Swarathma, launched Thaalavattam ("A Circle of Rhythm") in 2011, creating music from found objects. Thaalavattam gained international recognition as the first live act from India at Hungary's O.Z.O.R.A. Music Festival (2014-2016). Prominent Indigenous leaders participated, including Bryanna R. Brown, Janene Yazzie, Taily Terena, and Pluma Bárbara Moreno Torres, with moderation by Dr. Lyla June Johnston. These leaders represented diverse nations from Canada, Diné Bikéyah, Brazil, and Puerto Rico.
