The HIH Investment Forum 2025 is central to this partnership-building, offering a platform for member governments to present national agriculture and food value chain investment opportunities. These opportunities are showcased to global investors, multilateral development banks, the private sector, and donors.

Participants gained practical insights into voluntary and compliance markets, Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, and opportunities/risks for agrifood actors, including farmers, agribusinesses, and financial institutions.

The session emphasized policy conditions crucial for catalyzing private sector demand, such as robust governance, clear authorization, and strong MRV systems. By sharing real-world examples and policy insights, the webinar aims to help stakeholders responsibly scale carbon market participation and unlock sustainable investment.

Partnering with Save the Children India and Digital Empowerment Foundation, Smartpur establishes digital village ecosystems in remote Indian communities.

The project empowers local entrepreneurs to provide essential services—spanning livelihood, health, education, financial inclusion, and governance—via Smartpur centers. Beneficiaries access digital tools for training, telemedicine, banking, and government schemes. This guide empowers client-facing staff at banks and investment managers to support portfolio clients and investee companies in addressing nature and climate opportunities, risks, and compliance demands.

Angelina Xu, 17, founded a food recovery and composting program in 2018, addressing middle school food waste and insecurity. It collected unopened food for school food banks and sent cafeteria waste for composting. By 2021, her program became Compostology, a youth-led nonprofit now involving 35,000 participants managing 24 K-12 school programs across Maryland.

Compostology received a World Wildlife Fund grant in 2021. In 2023, a student campaign spearheaded by Compostology passed SB 124, allocating $1.25 million for K-12 schools to implement their own programs. Compostology is now rolling out this grant program, ensuring accessibility for all schools.

This year, northern Italy's Emilia-Romagna region faced catastrophic flooding, with rivers bursting banks and submerging thousands of acres after receiving half their annual rainfall in 36 hours. Professor Peter Wadhams, witnessing these crises firsthand from Turin, highlights heat as a major concern, regardless of varying wet or dry conditions.
