In support of the UN Youth Climate Summit, the Carnegie Climate Governance Initiative (C2G) hosted interactive games for young climate leaders on September 22, 2019, in New York City. The event explored complex decisions surrounding the deployment of climate-altering technologies to address global heating.

Climate Interactive facilitated a "Model-UN-like" negotiating game, utilizing the En-roads Climate Solutions Simulation. This powerful tool allowed participants to interactively explore the combined effects of various policies and technologies on atmospheric CO2 levels and global temperatures.

Armon Alex, a young climate activist, co-founded the Gulf of Mexico Youth Climate Summit and Project WAVES, a student-led water quality initiative. He empowers young leaders in climate communication and serves on Corpus Christi's Environmental Task Force. Maggie Peacock, also a co-founder of the Gulf of Mexico Youth Climate Summit, works with youth organizations and hosts community events. Annually, International Girls in ICT Day raises awareness about the gender digital divide, encouraging girls and young women to pursue STEM and ICT careers. The European Celebration, held on April 27th with the theme ‘Digital Skills for Life’, gathers women to discuss how tech skills can close this divide, benefiting society and the economy. It provides role models, highlights digital skills' value, and showcases programs for aspiring tech professionals.

Lydia Jennings, a member of the Huichol (Wixaritari) and Pascua Yaqui (Yoeme) Nations, holds a doctorate in soil microbiology. Her work champions environmental science and the essential role of Indigenous communities, striving for more inclusive academic and environmental landscapes.

When her graduation was canceled due to the pandemic, Lydia celebrated by running 50 miles to honor Indigenous scientists and knowledge keepers—a tribute to the past, present, and future. This inspiring story is captured in a film by Devin Whetstone and Jordan Marie Daniel.
