Ella is a 4th grader at Richmond Christian School. She is a talented dancer and singer, who also plays the piano and the drums. Francesco argues that a long-term solution to the climate crises can be found only through collaborative governance, and socially responsible innovation processes in the energy sector. The countries that have received the greatest advantages, and pollute the most, bear the responsibility to lead the development of scalable and sustainable alternative energy solutions. They also bear the responsibility to offer equal opportunities, via economically viable alternatives, to developing countries that legitimately aspire to invest in the same transformative social processes, and economic growth models, previously adopted by other countries. ... In the conclusion of the talk, recorded as part of a series of talks on the role of universities in tackling climate change, Francesco states that the role of universities and educators is to create leaders and change makers that understand the complexities, and necessarily shared responsibility, of governing the future of humanity and the planet. The ability to project, organize and foster this transformation through several decades is one of the fundamental functions of the leaders of tomorrow. ...
