David Giuliani, a Northwest serial entrepreneur and inventor, champions applying entrepreneurial zeal to state-level climate change and carbon reduction. An electrical engineer, he designed early LED products and secured numerous medical patents. He co-invented and led Sonicare, selling it to Philips, and later co-invented Clarisonic, sold to L'Oreal. He received national Small Business Person and Entrepreneur of the Year awards.

Now, Giuliani applies his talents to societal improvement. With Howard Behar, he founded the Washington Business Alliance, which launched the Low Carbon Prosperity Institute to reframe climate issues as "win-win." This talk was given at a TEDx event. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx.

Geothermal energy, despite lower carbon emissions than coal, is not benign. Projects like Nevada's proposed Baltazor site highlight significant environmental and social costs. Geothermal development leads to habitat destruction (e.g., in Kenya and for Nevada's Dixie Valley toad) and violent evictions of indigenous communities.

Drilling releases toxic elements like mercury, arsenic, and boron into groundwater. Facilities also cause air pollution, including sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, contributing to acid rain and health issues, as seen in Iceland. Moreover, "enhanced geothermal systems" (EGS) utilize fracking technology, injecting high-pressure slurries that can poison groundwater and induce earthquakes, mirroring problems in the oil and gas industry.

His insights, titled "Trust Brings Freedom 2 of 2," are available here.

Sally Ranney further explores "The Trust Frequency," a concept developed over 15 years in close association with Black Elk and other visionary elders. For more information, visit TheTrustFrequency.net.

Wallace Black Elk emphasized that humans are inherently born with love, kindness, generosity, and a giving spirit. Connie Baxter Marlow, author of "Walking in Trust: Radical Childrearing," highlighted trust as fundamental to harmonious living and a new way of being. She asserted that each child inherently knows their path, advocating trust in a loving universe.

This philosophy aligns with a Native American approach to discovery, urging individuals to listen to circumstances and observe signs. Themes of healing separation and courage were also central to their discussion. These insights were shared by Wallace Black Elk, Connie Baxter Marlow, and Sally Ranney in Aspen, Colorado, on July 13, 1998, as excerpts from "REALITY CHECK!"

Join host Jeff Corwin to celebrate the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and its profound impact on wildlife. The bald eagle, once critically endangered, now thrives as a powerful symbol of conservation success, thanks to the ESA. This landmark 1973 bipartisan legislation protects vulnerable species and their ecosystems.

Corwin visits Florida's Boca Raton beaches, a vital nesting site for sea turtles. Conservationists Elizabeth Fleming and David Anderson demonstrate how habitat protection is crucial for species like loggerheads. Excavating a nest reveals successful hatchlings, underscoring that safeguarding their environment allows these keystone species to survive. Six of the world's seven sea turtle species nest in America, all protected by the ESA. Learn more at defenders.org/wildlifenation.

A 2019 video revealed a frightening climate truth: a 2°C global temperature increase, labeled the "threshold of catastrophe," represents the best-case scenario. Without immediate action, the planet is on track for a 4°C rise this century, risking $600 trillion in damages, doubled warfare, and a refugee crisis 100 times worse than the Syrian exodus.

David Wallace-Wells, who explores even higher increases like 8°C and 13°C, stresses that these horrifying predictions should not induce complacency. Instead, he urges a more intense focus on the issue.

Climate change is now primarily a political challenge, not just a financial one. While decarbonizing our economy demands trillions in new investments, public opinion increasingly favors action.

Climate change is now primarily a political challenge, not just a financial one. While decarbonizing our economy demands trillions in new investments, public opinion increasingly favors action. The responsibility now rests with elected leaders.

David Wallace-Wells, a national fellow at New America and deputy editor at New York magazine, explores these themes in his book, *[The Uninhabitable Earth: Life After Warming](https://goo.gl/ih35YX)*.

The climate crisis is not a future problem, but an urgent, immediate threat. In the last thirty years, we've released more carbon than in all prior human history, pushing our planet to the brink. Yet, climate action is often dismissed as a secondary concern.

New York magazine's David Wallace-Wells vividly illustrates the devastating human costs and irreversible planetary damage climate change will bring, sooner than we realize. He issues an urgent call to fundamentally change how we perceive and discuss our planet's future.
