Since 2012, their interdisciplinary expertise has developed cost-effective solutions to eliminate microplastics, pharmaceuticals, and other contaminants.

These flexible methods improve water quality and protect ecosystems globally. A pilot plant in Germany has successfully removed microplastics from urban wastewater since 2019. Dr. Schuhen, with a background in polymer chemistry, is driven by a mission to prevent micropollutants from entering our environment and bodies.
