An Interfaith Alliance rally, supported by Rev. Michael Ellick and Rev. Elizabeth Simson Durant of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, was held on November 10th at Pioneer Square in Downtown Portland.

Leaders from diverse faith communities gathered to oppose bullying, threats of deportation, and divisive behavior. They advocated for peace, bridge-building, and a more "beloved community."

Randy Woodley and Graham Hill discuss embracing ethnic diversity and learning from indigenous communities on The GlobalChurch Project. Woodley, a descendent of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians, is a founding member of the North American Institute for Indigenous Theological Studies. Hill is the Founder and Director of The GlobalChurch Project.

Woodley and his wife Edith previously led a Native American gathering and developed a holistic service model, including a sustainable farm and Christian community. This initiative, which taught sustainability and eco-justice, was unfortunately disbanded due to violence. The GlobalChurch Project films Christian leaders and churches from diverse non-Western cultures, providing resources like curriculum, books, and training videos. Young, conservative, and Catholic individuals are increasingly advocating for climate action, driven by their faith and stewardship of the earth. Topher Anderson, a Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL) volunteer, exemplifies this, citing his Catholic faith and Pope Francis's teachings as his motivation.

In March 2021, Topher met with Republican members of Congress, urging them to adopt climate solutions consistent with conservative values like small government and American ingenuity. He believes these principles are key to effective, nationwide solutions.
