Joshua Humphreys is the inaugural President, Board Chair, and Senior Fellow of Croatan Institute. An historian and social critic, Dr. Humphreys is a leading analyst of finance capitalism's social and environmental impacts, advocating for social equity, ecological resilience, and economic democracy.

He participated in SOCAP16, "At The Intersection of Money and Meaning," held from September 13-16, 2016, at Fort Mason Center, San Francisco, CA.

WECAN Executive Director Osprey Orielle Lake addressed world governments at the UN ahead of COP26, declaring a refusal to sacrifice future generations for corporate greed and political power. She urged leaders to fight for social, racial, economic justice, and Indigenous and human rights, emphasizing that communities need climate justice now.

Lake demanded an end to "sacrifice people" and "sacrifice zones," challenging governments to confront the fossil fuel industry and deliver the promised $100 billion for a just transition. Highlighting that current commitments fall short of the 1.5°C target, she presented a "Call to Action" from the Global Women’s Assembly for Climate Justice, outlining existing frameworks.

Slam Dunkley, an Earth Guardians board member, recently delivered a law school graduation speech. He highlighted societal hypocrisy and the need for young leaders to maintain optimism for a radically different future.

Born in France, of Jamaican and Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape descent, Slam boasts a distinguished academic and legal career. A Division 1 Rower, he earned multiple degrees and, in law school, led student associations and wrote an award-winning paper on Indian Water rights. He will continue his legal education at UCLA.
