This conversation explored systemic racism, "food apartheid," and the vital role of the Black farming movement in fostering environmental sustainability and worker cooperatives to ensure healthy, local food access for all.

Mindy Lubber, CEO and President of Ceres since 2003, is a global thought leader inspiring institutional investors and corporate executives to integrate sustainability into decision-making. Under her leadership, Ceres has significantly grown in influence, helping shift the climate conversation to focus on jobs and the economy. She received the UN 'Champions of the Earth' award and was recognized on Barron’s list of most influential women in U.S. finance.

Dr. Morgan Levine, author of "True Age," outlines three dietary factors for longevity: quantity, quality, and timing. Caloric restriction (a 20% reduction) has shown lifespan benefits in animals, possibly by preventing overeating. A plant-based diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole foods while limiting animal products and refined sugars, is also beneficial. Fasting, or time-restricted eating, may mimic caloric restriction benefits via 'hormesis,' boosting resilience to aging.

Optimal diet is individual, influenced by genetics and age, and should be monitored via biological age and well-being. Dr. Levine, a former Yale professor now at Altos Labs, researches aging systems. For more, watch "The science of super longevity" or read the transcript on Big Think.

A mindset shift, exemplified by the City and County of Denver, can unlock substantial investments. These funds should be reallocated to solutions that enable a physically 100% renewable electric grid and decarbonization, fostering local workforce development, utility savings, and resilient infrastructure.
