Noticing a gap between student environmental concern and action at Wesleyan, Kate Weiner founded LOAM in 2014. Inspired by an internship, her student-run environmental arts collective uses a literary magazine and gardening program to engage students in sustainability.

LOAM's free campus magazine features student environmental art and writing. Its "Wild Walls" program involves students building and maintaining low-cost wall gardens. The collective has successfully produced multiple issues and installations, receiving widespread positive feedback.

Post-graduation, Weiner continues LOAM's mission, fostering off-campus sustainability exploration. She and her peers also hosted a national youth essay contest and launched a new online platform.

*Manufactured Landscapes* is a striking documentary exploring the work of acclaimed artist Edward Burtynsky. Internationally recognized for his large-scale photographs of "manufactured landscapes"—quarries, factories, and dams—Burtynsky transforms industrial sites and waste into beautiful art.

The film follows him through China, documenting the effects of its vast industrial revolution. Through breathtaking sequences, it expands on Burtynsky's photographic narratives, prompting reflection on humanity's environmental impact and showcasing both industrial epicenters and their waste.

The Earthsayers Special Collection: Artists and Musicians is a "Champions" category feature. It highlights individuals who leverage their artistic and communication talents to address social, cultural, environmental, and economic aspects of sustainability.

Artist Chris Jordan exemplifies this by exploring American consumerism and the unconscious behaviors that lead to unintended catastrophic consequences.

The film "The Known Universe" takes viewers from the Himalayas to the Big Bang's afterglow, featuring stars, planets, and quasars. This immersive journey is made possible by the Digital Universe Atlas, the world's most complete four-dimensional map of the cosmos.

Maintained and updated by astrophysicists at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH), the Atlas underpins the film, which was also created by the Museum. "The Known Universe" was part of the 2010 "Visions of the Cosmos" exhibition at the Rubin Museum of Art in Manhattan.

KOTV covered Steve Lambert's art installation, "Does Capitalism Work for You?", at Blueback Center.
