Together, they established Siren Song Permaculture, a local consultation and garden design company. They specialize in creating edible landscapes using permaculture principles, ranging from small herb spirals to comprehensive designs that provide food for humans, beneficial insects, and birds.

With over two decades of experience in the Mexican countryside, Miller has worked directly with rural and indigenous populations, bridging cultures and organizations to foster community development and sustainable resource management. Her path wasn't easy. After losing a scholarship despite excellent grades, Tarter appealed to Dean Corson. He agreed it was unfair and, after contacting Procter & Gamble, reinstated her funding.

Two decades later, Tarter, serving on President Corson's advisory committee at Cornell, personally thanked him for his belief and support.
