Malik Amin Aslam, Pakistan's Federal Minister of Climate Change and elected Global Vice President of IUCN, discusses government climate efforts. He previously chaired the "Green Growth initiative" in KPK, including the "Billion Tree Tsunami" project. As former Minister of State for Environment, he architected national climate policies.

Mr. Aslam has led Pakistan's climate change negotiations at various COP meetings since 1999 and advises the Chinese government on environmental policy on the Eco-Forum Global's International Advisory Council. He holds an MBA (McGill) and MSc (Oxford), researching emissions trading.

Facilities also cause air pollution, including sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, contributing to acid rain and health issues, as seen in Iceland. Moreover, "enhanced geothermal systems" (EGS) utilize fracking technology, injecting high-pressure slurries that can poison groundwater and induce earthquakes, mirroring problems in the oil and gas industry.
