Marie Storli leads Rethinking Economics Norway and is a sustainability consultant at Myldring. Passionate about environmental challenges, she holds a master's in environmental economics and climate models. She combines her expertise with a dedication to sharing knowledge through articles, workshops, public speaking, and advising businesses on sustainability strategies. Alice Maggio, an advocate for place-based currencies and local economies, uses an apple tree metaphor to describe the factors essential for a healthy, sustainable economy. Her work focuses on educating communities about the role of local financial tools in fostering vibrant, just, and sustainable economies.

From 2012-2017, Alice served as Director of Programs and Executive Director of BerkShares, the Berkshire region’s local currency, at the Schumacher Center for a New Economics. She has been interviewed by PBS NewsHour and the History Channel, and represented her work at international conferences.

The National Turtle Lodge Elders’ and Knowledge Keepers’ Council calls for a National Day of Prayer on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at various times across Canada. This collective prayer responds to the tragic discovery of 215 children at a Kamloops residential school, honoring all affected by the residential school system.

Elders and Knowledge Keepers will lead ceremonies, lifting Sacred Pipes and lighting Sacred Fires, praying in Original Languages. Their aim is healing, fostering a new relationship based on love and kindness, and supporting today's children through ancestral ways.

All are invited to join this Sunday by participating in their own traditions. A special gathering at Turtle Lodge in July will seek further spiritual guidance for the country's path forward.

After becoming a political refugee in Europe and Africa, she received amnesty to return to Brazil, where she led a spiritual community deep within the Amazon Rainforest.
