But who are the designers leading this transition? These are the highlights from the episode that was streamed live on our channels on 25th May. In this episode of The Circular Economy Show, we were joined by Anne Asensio and Sean Carney. Anne is the Head of Design at Dassault Systemes and she talked us through what she has learnt working at many large companies and what advice she’d give to young designers out there. In late 2016, following the November elections, Anne Lee and a cohort of students in Sammamish, WA realized that the incoming Trump administration was unlikely to follow through with US commitments

In late 2016, following the November elections, Anne Lee and a cohort of students in Sammamish, WA realized that the incoming Trump administration was unlikely to follow through with US commitments under the Paris Climate Accord, an international agreement to reduce carbon emissions and prevent global temperatures from rising more than 2 degrees Celsius. Lee and her peers decided that if elected leaders wouldn’t take action, they would. She soon co-founded Schools Under 2C, a student-led organization that aims to raise awareness of climate change among students in the US and abroad. So far, Schools Under 2C — which has 80 student members — has reduced the monthly carbon footprint of Lee’s Tesla STEM high school by more than two tons. Lee has also implemented a compost program, lighting reduction plan, and use of a transportation incentive mobile app that encourages students to choose cleaner ways of commuting to school. Now Schools Under 2C is challenging other schools across the world to do the same, and 30 schools have already taken a pledge to join the Under 2C challenge.

Tucker highlights the idea that humanity is capable of embracing long-term, radical change and suggests that humans are at a critical point in their history, one in which the recognition of humanity as being part of a living and unique Earth community is vital.  Tucker continues to discuss the Earth Charter, its relation to Satyagraha, and the incorporation of principles of nonviolence, democracy, and peace in its body.

She served as President of Ireland from 1990 through 1997 and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights from 1997 through 2002. She is a member of the Elders and the Club of Madrid and the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom from U.S. President Barack Obama. She is a member of the Lead Group of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement. In March 2013, Robinson was appointed the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for the Great Lakes region of Africa.
