Dr. Oldham, an expert in Chemical Oceanography, began her career studying chemistry in Canada, then researched metals in seawater in Bermuda. After completing her PhD and post-doctoral work, she joined URI’s Graduate School of Oceanography. Her current research focuses on intense redox chemistry in coastal oceans, hydrothermal vents, and polar systems.

Authored by Peter Burdon, a Senior Lecturer at Adelaide Law School, the work draws on his extensive expertise in ecological law. His PhD in this field earned him the Bonython Prize and a University of Adelaide Research Medal. Since 2005, Burdon has also actively contributed to Friends of the Earth Adelaide's Clean Futures Collective.

Passionate about social justice, Asukulu actively promotes marginalized groups through his school's Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council and African American Students United. In August 2019, he founded The Congo Peace Project, a grassroots movement dedicated to realizing menstrual hygiene and educational opportunities for all Congolese people.

The U.S. government classifies cannabis as a Schedule I drug—the most restricted category—asserting it is unsafe with no accepted medical use.

Despite this, medical cannabis has been used for millennia, with no reported overdoses. Moreover, recent global clinical research consistently demonstrates its medicinal value.

The event was organized by the Aitkin County Land Department, The Forest Guild, Northeastern Area - US Forest Service, and Dovetail Partners.
