Passion Education Experience Collaboration

Dan Pingaro is the Executive Director of Sailors for the Sea, the only ocean conservation nonprofit focused on the sailing and boating community. We asked him to talk about his career path leading him to Sailors for the Sea and the commitment he has made to growing the organization and remaining, always, an advocate for a clean and healthy ocean. His passion, experience, education and working with partners collaboratively came together, contributing to the success of the Sailors for the Sea team in growing the organization and having a major impact on ocean conservation.

Two in particular are the Rainy Day Kits that are environmental lesson plans focused on marine ecology that can be taught to students in sailing programs and other low resource environments around the world and Clean Regattas, a certification program that helps regattas, sailing programs and other events voluntarily achieve higher environmental standards.
