Speakers included Lolita Jackson, former NYC lead climate strategist who shaped the city's energy transition, and Robert Hockett, a Cornell Law professor who advised Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the Green New Deal and authored "Financing the Green New Deal." Colorado State Senator Steve Fenberg, a champion of climate legislation, also participated as a local panelist.

Scientists have long studied climate change; now, the focus must shift to implementing solutions. As a technologist, I see immense potential for innovation to mitigate warming impacts—from preventing deforestation and preserving biodiversity to ensuring food security. The ambitious goal, central to "Operation Earth," is to leverage technology not just to limit warming, but to reverse damage and reduce global temperatures by one degree Celsius.

This urgent call to action comes from Daniela Rus, Director of MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) and a distinguished professor. Robert H. Frank is the Henrietta Johnson Louis Professor of Management and Professor of Economics at Cornell's Johnson Graduate School of Management. He previously wrote the "Economic View" column for *The New York Times*.

Astrophysicist Jill Tarter, who inspired Jodie Foster's character in *Contact*, dedicated her career to the search for extraterrestrial life. She now directs the Center for SETI Research at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California.

Her path wasn't easy. After losing a scholarship despite excellent grades, Tarter appealed to Dean Corson. He agreed it was unfair and, after contacting Procter & Gamble, reinstated her funding.

Two decades later, Tarter, serving on President Corson's advisory committee at Cornell, personally thanked him for his belief and support.
