Cet événement majeur réunira des membres de la FAO d’Europe et d’Asie centrale, ainsi que des représentants gouvernementaux, des agences des Nations Unies, des ONG, des instituts de recherche, du secteur privé et de la société civile. C'est une plateforme essentielle pour le dialogue régional sur les défis de l'alimentation et de l'agriculture.

Sous le thème «Unis pour la durabilité», la conférence se concentrera sur l'intégration de l'action climatique, la conservation de la biodiversité et la restauration des terres. L'objectif est de promouvoir des systèmes agroalimentaires durables, résilients et inclusifs, en ligne avec le Cadre stratégique 2022-2031 de la FAO. This key event unites FAO members from Europe and Central Asia, along with UN bodies, NGOs, academia, and the private sector, to address urgent food and agriculture challenges. The conference, themed "United for Sustainability," focuses on integrating climate action, biodiversity conservation, and land restoration to build sustainable, resilient, and inclusive agrifood systems.

Aligned with FAO's Strategic Framework 2022-2031, the agenda covers sustainable natural resource management, climate change, and biodiversity. Discussions will also tackle external factors like regional crises, the Ukraine war's impact on food security, and financing for agrifood systems. Dr. Evan Adams, an award-winning Canadian actor, playwright, and medical doctor, delivered a TEDxPowellRiver talk on "Wellness, two-eyed seeing and system change." A member of the Tla'amin First Nations, Dr. Adams graduated from the University of Calgary medical school in 2002.

He has held significant roles, including past-president of the Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada and is currently the Director of the Division of Aboriginal Peoples' Health at UBC. Malik Amin Aslam, Pakistan's Federal Minister of Climate Change and elected Global Vice President of IUCN, discusses government climate efforts. He previously chaired the "Green Growth initiative" in KPK, including the "Billion Tree Tsunami" project. As former Minister of State for Environment, he architected national climate policies.

Mr. Aslam has led Pakistan's climate change negotiations at various COP meetings since 1999 and advises the Chinese government on environmental policy on the Eco-Forum Global's International Advisory Council. He holds an MBA (McGill) and MSc (Oxford), researching emissions trading.
