February 03, 2026

The La Higuera-Freirina Coastal Heritage Route, highlighted in Freirina, Chile, is a Chilean Ministry of National Assets initiative. It aims to provide public access to valuable natural, cultural, and tourist sites, offering various transport options. Local and institutional actors have discussed its benefits, with the route expected to launch in 2026.

Development of this route is significantly supported by the GEF Marine Coastal Governance Project. This project is implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and executed by Chile's Ministry of Environment, Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service.
