The United Nations has designated 2026 as the International Year of Women Farmers. This initiative will highlight women's crucial, yet often unrecognized, contributions across the entire agri-food system, from production to trade. It aims to raise awareness of their vital role and the significant challenges they encounter, including limited land rights, funding, technology, and access to education.

The International Year will promote policies and investments to empower women farmers and foster coordinated international support. For more information, visit the International Year of Women Farmers website.
