This FAO-partnered video highlights the Geographical Indications, Environment and Sustainability (GIES) framework in Bhutan's quinoa sector. Introduced in 2015, quinoa is now Bhutan's "One Country One Priority Product," a strategic crop for climate resilience and nutrition.

The GIES initiative, focused in Bartsham Gewog, Trashigang, establishes a data-driven traceability system. This provides consumers verifiable digital data on origin, soil quality, and environmental conditions. GIES enhances transparency, secures premium market access, and advances sustainable agriculture, supporting rural development.
